Video

We are pleased to announce that DanceBUG (DRC Video Productions) will be professionally video recording our annual recital in its entirety. DanceBUG will distribute your media online at DanceBUG.com and you will receive the access code from the studio if you purchase the recital media.

DanceBUG.com is a private, secure place where each family can create an account and from year to year keep their dance recital library. You can watch on  any internet-enabled device: smartphones, iPad, tablet, Smart TV or Roku.

To see how DanceBUG looks from a guardian account, go to DanceBUG.com and use the username "sally" and password "12345". You'll see how a recital would be edited and how it would look if you purchase recital media.

If you would like to purchase the video, please fill out the order form in the Recital Handbook. The cost is $35.00 per family; cash or check payment only. After payment is received and the show is filmed, edited and up online, they will generate a 5-digit code for PE to distribute to our families who purchased recital media. You will then log in or create an account if they don't already have one and enter the code to unlock the show.

T-Shirt & Trophy

T-Shirts and Trophies will all be done “Al a Carte”. If you would like to purchase a T-Shirt or Trophy, you may do so; if you do not wish to purchase either, you don’t have to. There will be an online webstore to purchase T-Shirts and Trophies from. The online webstore for T-Shirts and Trophies is not open at this time. We will let you know when it is open.

Costume Care

It is important that you take care of your costume(s) leading up to the pictures and the show! Here are some tips:

  1. When handling the costume, please be sure that your hands and your child’s hands are clean. Also, do not consume food/drink while in their costume, unless they are wearing a cover up over it. Costumes should be clean, neat and stain free.
  2. Although your costumes come in plastic bags, it is a good idea to place them on a hanger until traveling to let the wrinkles naturally relax. If there are still wrinkles in the costume, DO NOT IRON them! Steaming is much safer, or you can place them on a hanger in the bathroom and run a hot shower for several minutes to get the room steamy.
  3. If your costume has a tutu, fluff the tutu the week before! Pull apart all layers of tulle or mesh for a fuller look.
  4. Please be sure that you have all of the correct pieces, accessories, shoes and tights for each dance your child is in. We suggest writing your child’s name on the tags of the costumes/shoes/etc.
  5. Lastly, please be sure to apply make-up and do hair BEFORE putting on the costume.

Shoes & Tights

All Company Dancers should wear their correct shoes/tights as they do for competition. As for our Recreational Dancers, please refer to your Recital Handbook (pages 18-20) that was previously sent out via email or contact the studio -- poweresd2007@aol.com.

Backstage

Backstage is a secure area and only teachers are allowed back there at all times. Dancers are only allowed backstage when they are about to perform. Absolutely NO PARENTS are allowed backstage.

Check In & Out

  • Students in Act 1 should meet at the backstage area/holding area 5-10 minutes before the start of the show. Students in Act 2 should meet at the backstage area/holding area immediately after the Senior Slideshow.
  • If dancers are in multiple dances in Act 1 or Act 2, they should return to the backstage area/holding area immediately after changing.

LOVE DANCE

We produce a fabulous end-of-year Recital for all Power Explosion dancers. This is such an exciting way to end the dance season! We feel our professional show is an important part of the training we offer. It will prove to be a constructive, beautifully artistic endeavor for your entire family to enjoy and remember.

  • The Recital will be held in June at Calvert High School.
  • There is a $100.00 Participation Fee, PER STUDENT, that is due in two installments - $50.00 due with October Tuition and $50.00 due with your January Tuition. It costs thousands of dollars to produce the Recital and this fee will help cover the costs associated with putting on the Recital. It also includes (1) free ticket per student and a special gift for your dancer.
  • Exact dates and times will be announced in the beginning of December.
  • Details of the show line-ups will be made available in late February.
  • Recreational and TWIRL* dancers will have a MANDATORY dress rehearsal. Friday, June 14th, 2024.
