Let’s face it. Not every dancer enjoys ballet, musical theater, contemporary + jazz. And that’s OKAY! Many dancers prefer the thrill of hearing their own two feet create an amazing rhythm over perfecting an over-extended grande jete or beautiful turn combination. Still, many studios require the same technique/ballet classes regardless of the disciplines you participate in. Hmmmm….this is a problem!!
Our studio has always been known for our dancers’ tap abilities and we have been fortunate enough to have truly amazing and above-par tap teachers throughout the years. WE LOVE TAP! Our studio has had many award winning routines including “Smooth Criminal” “Bucket of Sound” “Thriller” and “Acapella” that won numerous overall awards and championships. Our Intermediate dancers have placed in overall positions with dances such as “Candyman” and “Sugar Pie”
So we thought, what fun way can we help our tappers enjoy their love of performing and tapping without having to commit to other disciplines?? …BOOM!
The Power Explosion Tap Crew!!
If your dancer is 10+ and loves to compete and perform on stage but wants to focus only on tap, this is the group for you!! Our Tap Crew will perform at all competitions the Elite Company attends and we also plan to arrange different performances throughout the community.
Tap Crew dancers will be required to attend one tap technique class and one conditioning class (outside of routines) that will be held on Sundays for the 2018-2019 season. This group is for the advanced tapper and an audition or invitation is required.
We are super excited about this group and think it will open the door for many dancers to be able to do what they love without the time commitment (and let’s face it, financial commitment) of a multi-disciplinary company dancer.
